Oswen Carty is a 28-year-old young man who describes himself as a self-motivated, easy-going individual passionate about renewable energy and geology. Oswen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Kingston University – London. He returned home to contribute to Montserrat’s development because of his passion, love, and enthusiasm to support his country.
Marissa is a 25-year-old Mestizo-Belizean woman. She is the National President of the Belize Youth Movement - a political arm dedicated to promoting cultural, political, educational and sporting initiatives among its members. As a social activist with a background in anthropology, she campaigns for inclusion, equality and diversity. Marissa advocates for women and youth in politics, protecting indigenous cultural heritage, and inclusive action to address climate change.
Twenty-three-year-old Kenroy is the youngest Chairperson elected for the community of “Red Bank”, Belize. He holds an Associate Degree in Business Science and is a successful entrepreneur – having his own Bus Line in Belize. Kenroy is a positive-minded young leader who engages in youth activities that promote youth empowerment. He serves as a member of the Scarlet Youth Empowerment Organisation and a Village Council leader. Kenroy enjoys spending time doing church events, sports and community service.
Arielle Neely has over five years of experience in youth work and volunteerism. Her passion for youth development is evident from hosting a university charity event for “Hull’s Women’s Aid” to being a university and college student ambassador in the United Kingdom. In addition, Arielle has coordinated Youth Sexual Health Education sessions for 30 high school students with the AOL Foundation in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Andy Missick is a probation officer by profession. In addition, he is a youth parliamentarian and a member of the Rotaract Club. Andy is involved in mentorship and youth work within his community. He strongly believes that mentorship strengthens youth and takes great pride and value in providing guidance and capacity-building for young people within his community. He views giving service as a significant aspect of lifelong learning, being able to not only help others but also contribute to personal growth and development.
Ashley Lashley is a 23-year-old Barbadian UNICEF youth advocate who has a wide focus on social development issues, particularly in health, the environment, children and women’s rights. Ashley began her journey in 2015 with the establishment of the “Schools Against Non- Communicable Diseases” when she was sixteen (16) years old.
Mr Shakeem Howell is a young professional with eleven (11) years of experience in the Communications field. He is passionate about youth and social advocacy and is the Leader of the “Opposition Business” of the Barbados National Youth Parliament.
The CARICOM Secretariat Strategic Plan 2022-2030 sets out how the Secretariat will work in creative, collaborative, relevant, and effective ways to secure a viable, sustainable, and prosperous Community for all. It represents a shift in thinking, planning, and approach that will ensure enhanced cross-directorate collaboration, accountability, transparency, communication, both internally and with stakeholders across the Community, and strengthened partnerships with all relevant regional and international institutions.
