This first publication on Climate Change Statistics for CARICOM countries contains data up to 2019 in some instances, while for other series it comprises data up to 2012/13.  It aims at providing statistics on climate change for the region and follows the Framework for the Development of Environment Statistics (FDES 2013) of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and its refinements based on the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) schematic framework.

The Baseline Report (BR) is intended to be used as a guide for policy dialogue on the development of regional targets for the CARICOM Human Resource Development 2030 Strategy (C-HRD 2030 S), as well as the actions that are required to achieve them. The report provides a snapshot of the region’s readiness to report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Phase One of the Regional Action Plan (RAP) for implementation 2017-2021.

This document aims to provide a road map for adolescent health and well-being with recommendations and implementation considerations for policymakers and planners in Member States to develop adolescent-centred, evidence-based strategies for addressing adolescent health. It also includes a youth-led advocacy component to facilitate adolescents’ involvement in decision-making, planning, designing, monitoring and evaluation of programs and interventions.

The report issues 14 recommendations to reform, redesign and revitalize the global architecture, so it can effectively foster financial integrity for sustainable development.

It finds that strengthening coordination and global governance related to financial integrity is an essential component of the common agenda for the common future of present and coming generations.

Accountability, legitimacy, transparency, and fairness must form the foundation of the global financial system.

St. Kitts and Nevis is implementing another round of income support for residents who became redundant in March 2020 and remain unemployed because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris announced the $15 million, 2021 Income Support Programme on July 08. Under the programme qualified applicants will receive “a monthly stipend of $1,000” which will be paid for the next 3 months.

On June 15, the Secretariat of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) held a workshop on eCITES permit management in support of the implementation of the Convention in the Caribbean region.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the potential benefits of automated permitting systems, the increased transparency and control they can bring to the supply chain and the role they can play in the development of electronic risk management systems.
