Cloud Carib and CTU Sign MOU in Support of a Caribbean Single ICT Space

On September 7th, 2022, members of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), the Government of The Bahamas, and Cloud Carib gathered at the CTU ICT Week conference to sign off on an MOU in support of a regional single ICT space. The MOU is a testament to the member states within the CTU and Cloud Carib’s dedication to the region’s vision for a single ICT space and our focus on achieving that vision with each member state before 2030.

The Caribbean Single ICT Space is an ambitious undertaking that will transform the region’s ICT space as we know it. However, as important as that project is, most people have no idea what it is about, or what to expect. To help us get in the know, Jennifer Britton, of the CARICOM Secretariat, explains what the Single ICT Space is all about, shares with us a few of the upcoming milestones, and why it is crucial for the countries of the region to also transition to a digital economy.

Single ICT Space, cyber security for discussion at ICT officials meeting

Progress on the development of the Single ICT space in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and cyber security, are among the main areas that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) officials will discuss when they meet on 7 June.

The virtual meeting of officials that will be anchored at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana, is in preparation for a Special Meeting of Ministers of ICT in the last quarter of this year.
