Agreement Establishing the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC)

Belize City, Belize, February 4, 2002.

Objective

This Agreement provides for the establishment of the CCCC Centre, the objective of which includes: protection of the climate system of Members of the Centre for the benefit of present and future generations of their peoples; enhancing regional institutional capabilities for the co-ordination of national responses to the negative effects of climate change; providing comprehensive policy and technical support in the area of climate change and related issues and spearheading regional initiatives in those areas; and performing the role of executing agency for regional environmental projects relating to climate change.
