Heads of Government meeting at the Fifteenth Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis, carefully considered the developments in Haiti since their special Emergency Meeting in Jamaica in March 2004. They also considered issues related to the representation of Haiti within the Community and the modalities for engagement between the Community and the Haitian nation.

A group of media practitioners and government Communications Officers from Suriname are expected to benefit from a training programme next week as preparation for the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) is accelerated in that Member State.

From 30 March – 02 April a team of resource persons from the CARICOM Secretariat will conduct the four-day seminar, which will focus on capacity building in media related skills and techniques for the accurate transfer of information on the CSME and the CCJ to various local audiences.
