The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has been invited by the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Edwin Carrington, to participate in the Civil Society "Forward Together Encounter" scheduled for 2 - 3 July 2002 in Georgetown, Guyana.

The Conference, which will see the participation of the Heads of Government of CARICOM, will take place just prior to their annual Conference scheduled for July 3-5 in Georgetown.

On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I extend (from Belize where I am currently on mission with a Caricom Secretariat team), warmest congratulations to Captain Jimmy Adams and his team for the outstanding West Indies victory over Pakistan in the third and final Test Match in Antigua.

That the victory clinched the Test Series makes it all the more remarkable.

Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque has hailed the signing of an MOU between CARICOM and FIFA as opening avenues to positively impact the lives of youth within the Region.

Ambassador LaRocque and FIFA’s President Mr Gianni Infantino signed the memorandum in a virtual ceremony, Monday. It creates a framework for further collaboration between football’s world government body and CARICOM on the development of football in the Community’s Member States.
