PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - Tuesday's resounding electoral victory has given Dr Keith Mitchell an emphatic mandate from the people of Grenada to assume the authority and responsibility for leading their country out of its current dire straits. The 15-0 clean sweep by Dr Mitchell's New National Party puts him in the ranks of Caribbean prime ministers who have received multiple mandates to govern. GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The 15-nation Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on Wednesday announced that has rescinded the appointment of Guyanese development specialist, Dr. Naresh Singh as Deputy Secretary General. But Singh maintained that he has done nothing wrong that warranted such a move and he would leave the region to judge whether his failure to obtain clearances for two or three consultancies of less than one week each with the United Nations (UN) was enough to deprive him from serving in the number two spot.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Feb 20, CMC – Barbadians go to the polls to elect a new government on Thursday with opinion polls predicting a victory for the main opposition Barbados labour Party (BLP). What’s more, the CDB estimated that the number of stayover tourists visiting Grenada fell by 5.1 per cent in 2012.

KINGSTON, Jamaica - SHORT OF Jamaica quitting its borrowing habit cold turkey, this newspaper is convinced that an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is the only game in town. We also believe that given our situation, the deal that has been struck with the IMF is on the best terms that we could get. They are tough, but could have been much worse.
