Regional statisticians got together for back-to-back meetings during the past week, November 11-15, 2002 in St. Georgeβs, Grenada to discuss critical issues relating to data collection, compilation and dissemination, in support of national and regional priorities and objectives. The Meetings were convened by the Secretariat of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and hosted by the Government of Grenada.

Caribbean Statisticians are spearheading work on the development of a framework for the Production of Economics Statistics in the region, designed according to the requirements of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). A Trade Policy Facilitation Project relating to the implementation of Protocol II on the Right of Establishment, Provision of Services and Movement of Capital is among the main areas of their focus.
