(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Second Meeting of the Joint CARIFORUM-EU Council under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held at the Headquarters of the Council of the European Union in Brussels, Belgium on 26 October 2012. The Meeting delved into challenges that have arisen in the implementation of the EPA and provided political guidance, with a view to ensuring that EPA implementation remains on track.
Thirteen of the fifteen signatory CARIFORUM States were in attendance, with eight Delegations led by Ministers.
On October 30-31, the 2nd CARIFORUM International Financial Services Conference took place in Antigua and Barbuda at the Sandals Grande Resort. Both sides characterized the intensive one-day Meeting as “successful.”

A preparatory meeting of CARIFORUM Officials, also to be held in Trinidad and Tobago, will be convened ahead of the TDC.
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Director-General of the Caribbean Forum of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (CARIFORUM) Directorate, Mr Ivan Ogando Lora, has just completed an official visit to the Dominican Republic. Mr Ogando’s trip to this CARIFORUM State came against the backdrop of its assumption of the Chairmanship of CARIFORUM from 1 July 2012, a position it will hold until 30 June 2013. The visit, which took place from 3-4 September, was mounted on behalf of the Secretary-General of CARIFORUM Ambassador Irwin La Rocque.

October 2011 marked the third year of implementation of the Agreement.
