This final Report of the CARICOM Cricket Review Panel is the outcome of three months of consultation, interviews, deliberations, and meetings by a five member panel of CARICOM citizens appointed by the Prime Ministerial Committee on the Governance of West Indies Cricket.  The composition of the panel, its terms of reference and the list of interviewees are presented in Appendices I - III.  The main mandate of the Panel was to review the administrative and governance structure of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and submit its recommendation through the CARICOM Secretary-General to the C

Goal

To provide an enabling environment for young people to develop basic skills for movement, athletic excellence and healthy lifestyles through systematic exposure to PE and Sport.

Objective

To systematically deliver a PE curriculum to satisfy the needs of the Twenty-First Century in pre-primary, primary and secondary schools, teacher training institutions and youth training programmes.

Strategic plan on sporting services

Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules which can be engaged in competitively. It also refers to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor either makes them win or lose.

For the purpose of this paper sport may be referred to a process where physical education takes place and the end result is evidenced by effectively run programmes in schools at all levels – primary, secondary and even at the tertiary level. Further to that the region would have recorded successes in various areas of sport.

THE CUBAN INTEGRATED MODEL OF SPORT DEVELOPMENT – LESSONS FOR THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY

The genesis of Cuba’s national sports movement is attributed to the first Presidential declaration after the 1959 revolution to the effect that PE and Sport were the vehicles by which individual health, social well-being, intellectual development and the shaping of high performance athletes would be achieved, and by extension national development.

Regional Survey of Development through Sport Programmes implemented at the country level
