Welcome to Grenada. Welcome to Spice Country. Welcome to the Twenty-fifth Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community. The people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique welcome you.

I am very pleased that all of my friends are here. Just a few days ago, one of my colleague Heads of Government asked whether or not I would be here.  Fortunately, being a cricketer, dealing with bouncers is ingrained in me. Thankfully though, bouncers are now limited to one per Over.

MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE SECOND SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF MINISTERS,  3 JULY 2004, GRAND BEACH CONFERENCE CENTRE, GRENADA

The Community Council of Ministers held its Second Special Meeting on July 3, 2004 in accordance with the decision taken at its Fourteenth Meeting, which was held in Trinidad and Tobago on 18 June 2004. The Chairman of the Meeting was The Hon. Elvin Nimrod, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Grenada. The Meeting was primarily to discuss the recommendations for the restructuring of the CARICOM Secretariat. It also received and reviewed an update on the situation in Haiti.

MESSAGE BY HIS EXCELLENCY MR. EDWIN CARRINGTON SECRETARY-GENERAL OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY (CARICOM) FOR CARICOM DAY, JULY 4, 2004

Fellow citizens of the Caribbean Community, on July 4 2004 we celebrate CARICOM Day, marking the 31st Anniversary of our integration movement. We are doing so fully cognizant that our Community at this time continues to face tough challenges, but equally aware that there are many exciting new possibilities for us opening up in our Region, our hemisphere and in the globalised world.

RADIO CARICOM TO PROMOTE REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY

Radio Caricom will be officially launched at the 25th Meeting of the Conference of the Heads of Government in Grenada on 4 July 2004

It will be established in all Member States over a short period of time with Barbados, Belize, Grenada, and St. Lucia, regarded as "pilot States" in the project, coming online in 2004. Radio Caricom will eventually become a common source of information on the Caribbean Community for all Member States, and available in all Member States.
