Caribbean Statisticians are spearheading work on the development of a framework for the Production of Economics Statistics in the region, designed according to the requirements of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). A Trade Policy Facilitation Project relating to the implementation of Protocol II on the Right of Establishment, Provision of Services and Movement of Capital is among the main areas of their focus.

Secretary General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Mr Edwin Carrington, is slated to deliver the key note address at the eighth National Consultation with Civil Society in Saint Lucia as the Community advances towards its goal of integrating ideas from the non-government sector into a forward-looking strategy for the Region.
The government of Saint Lucia through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Community Development will host the forum in Castries, Saint Lucia's capital, tomorrow, 19 October 2001.

It has had a rich history and like another of our beautiful Caribbean islands, Tobago, the so called bone of contention.
We, the Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community, meeting in Special (Emergency) Session in The Bahamas, 11-12 October, 2001, to undertake consultations on the grave situation confronting our nations as a consequence of the terrorist attacks in the United States of America on 11 September 2001 and its aftermath_
Recognise that these dastardly acts have exacerbated an incipient global economic crisis which threatened international peace and security.

Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community met in emergency session from 11-12 October, 2001 in Nassau, The Bahamas. Heads of Government in attendance were_ The Rt. Hon. Hubert A. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis; and Dr the Hon. Kenny D.
Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States have been mobilised in an all out effort to cushion the global economic downturn, following the 11 September 2001 terrorism attacks on the United States. Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General, Mr. Edwin Carrington made this disclosure in Member State, Saint Lucia, earlier today 15 September 2001.
 A number of pressing issues relating to the continued support of European Union funding for projects and programmes in the Caribbean will be high on the agenda when a series of meetings convened by Caribbean Forum of African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries (CARIFORUM), gets underway in Saint Lucia from 15-19 October 2001.
Officials and Ministers from the Caribbean will deliberate separately prior to meeting with their European Commission counterparts on European Development Fund (EDF) support for the Caribbean.
