It gives great pleasure on behalf of the Caribbean Community to join the Pacific Islands Forum as we salute our partnership with the GEF.
The Caribbean Small Islands and Low-lying Coastal States are located in the geographic zone where most_
(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) CARICOM Member States are gearing for the technological challenges of globalisation through active participation and cooperation in the sphere of information technology.
As part of preparations for phase two of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), which takes place in Tunisia November 2005, several Regional organisations and institutions are meeting at the CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Wednesday, 12 January for a CARICOM Regional Stakeholders Meeting.
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, the Secretariat of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), the Government of Italy and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) on Wednesday (January 12) co-sponsored a forum on agriculture, food production and food security in the Caribbean and Pacific regions as a partnership event at the international meeting on small island developing states (SIDS) in Mauritius.
(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Regional organisations, representatives of private sector and civil society, as well as a CARICOM Secretariat team are now part of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Steering Committee that will meet regularly to ensure the Region's optimum preparation for and participation at the November 2005 second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis.

With Haitian agreement and international support, the Caribbean Community launched a diplomatic initiative. Underpinned by the principles of democracy and good governance enshrined in the CARICOM Charter of Civil Society and the Inter-American Democratic Charter, the CARICOM initiative sought the following_
