(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) In just one month, there were more than 7000 applications for the Special CARICOM Visa which is required by nationals of some countries to visit 10 Caribbean countries as the world prepares to flock to the Region for the ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2007.
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Chief Information Officer of Barbados, Ms. Jacqui Wiltshire has stressed that the provision of information was pivotal to preparations for staging Cricket World Cup 2007.
It is with a sense of profound sadness that I have learnt of the passing of Angela King, a distinguished Jamaican, a standard-bearer for the Caribbean in the international arena, and a citizen of the world.
Over the last two days, we have had a most productive and engaging meeting – the first of its kind, bringing together the Sub committees responsible for the CSME and external trade negotiations.
I am encouraged by the unity of purpose and the level of commitment demonstrated by all participants. I want to pay particular tribute to the Prime Minister of Barbados who co-chaired the meeting as well as to Prime Minister the Hon. Ralph Gonzalves, CARICOM Chairman and the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, the Hon Patrick Manning.Â
