Remarks by CARICOM SG, Dr. Carla Barnett, first regional launch, Early Warnings for All Systems Initiative, 6 February 2023, Bridgetown, Barbados

As the Caribbean Community continues to battle against intense events including hurricanes and troughs, #CARICOM Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett has joined the Region at the global Climate Change Summit, #COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to advocate for better and for more.

CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett, has congratulated Belize on the occasion of its 41st Independence Anniversary.

“Honourable Prime Minister:

On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I extend congratulations to you and the People of Belize on the occasion of your country’s 41st Anniversary of Independence.

St. Kitts and Nevis celebrates its thirty-ninth independence anniversary on 19 September 2022.

In extending congratulations on behalf of the Community, CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett, hailed the country’s progress since independence and the valuable contribution it has made to the Community.

“Honourable Prime Minister:

CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett on Monday 5 September delivered the Second Distinguished Owen Arthur Memorial Lecture in Bridgetown, Barbados. The lecture was delivered under the theme ‘The Future of CARICOM; Charting a Vision for the Region’s Economic Advancement’.

It was organised by the the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, Shridath Ramphal Centre, and the Caribbean Development Bank.
