The 24th Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM recently adopted a ā€œRegional Crime and Security Strategyā€.
The Strategy resulted from consultations among regional security officials of CARICOM Member States by the CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), as mandated by the Council of Ministers Responsible for National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE) at its Fifth Meeting.

IMPACS headquarters Port – of – Spain Trinidad and Tobago_ Senior Security OfficialsĀ from across the Caribbean Community met via video conference on Thursday as theĀ CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS) convened the FirstĀ Meeting of the Steering Committee to oversee the development of the Regional CrimeĀ and Security Strategy (RCSS).

​ It is my pleasure, as Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community, to be in Antigua and Barbuda and to join in greeting you all on behalf of the Caribbean Community Secretariat and indeed of the entire Community.

This meeting comes at a very hectic period for me and the Secretariat, as we are in the process of preparing for the 31st Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government, which takes place in Montego Bay, Jamaica in just over a week’s time from 4th to 7th July.

Allow me to join with the Secretary General of CARICOM in thanking the Government of the Republic of Suriname for its graciousness in being excellent host to this the Eighth Meeting of the CARICOM Council for National Security and Law Enforcement. I am certain that I speak for all present.

We have all been the beneficiaries of the exceptional service and organization that has been displayed in the coordination for this Meeting thus far, as well as the ones which preceded it.

It is my pleasure to chair this opening session of the Seventh Meeting of the Council for National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE).
