These creative products feature Caribbean Artists from Belize, Guyana and SurinameĀ ā€œUNiTEingā€ to End Violence Against Women, a project undertaken by CARICOM with support from UN WOMEN in 2011 in Suriname.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to raising awareness on Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the Caribbean and in promoting positive attitudes and behaviour towards a more gender sensitive community through the use of edutainment.Ā

How do we promote rights and opportunities to work, travel and do business across 13 MembersĀ States?; more importantly, how do we encourage CARICOM nationals to stand in the vanguard when those rights are threatened?

The CARICOM Secretariat Energy Programme has initiative an energy efficiency pilot project entitled ā€œBuilding Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP)ā€ with the technical assistance from the GIZ REETA Project. The key objective of the project is to utilise energy more effectively by using less electricity, while maintaining the levels of activity and productivity in the Secretariat. The BEEP is implemented under the guidance of a project board that includes internal and external stakeholders. It is already serving as a role model for similar management interventions throughout the Region.

The Project for the Regional Advancement of Statistics in the Caribbean (PRASC), funded by the Canadian Government, is a seven-year initiative that begins this month. It is geared at strengthening the statistical system of the Caribbean in order to address identified gaps towards the improvement of socio-economic measures and to support evidence-based policy-making.

On 16 August 2019, the Board of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria approved a US$6.5 Million Multi-country Caribbean grant for PANCAP-CVC-COIN. The CARICOM Secretariat will serve as the Principal Recipient while PANCAP, CVC and COIN will serve as Sub-Recipients. CARPHA, PAHO and CENESEX in Cuba are Sub-sub-recipients.
