The Twelfth Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) of the Caribbean Community was held in Kingston, Jamaica 8-9 May 2009, under the Chairmanship of the Hon. As the outgoing Chair of this most important and necessary organ of the CARICOM, I am indeed pleased to have served the Region in this capacity. (CARICOM Secretariat,Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Task Force on Climate Change and Development is holding its Second Meeting in Georgetown, Guyana to continue the Region’s preparation for the impending 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) set for Copenhagen, Denmark in December.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Climate Change poses one of the most serious challenges to the sustainable development of the small island and low lying coastal developing states of the Caribbean. Recognising this threat, the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) in tandem with the CARICOM Secretariat has drafted a regional Climate Change Strategic Framework that should point the way to building the Region’s resilience to the effects of Climate Change, over the next five years.
