(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM)’s Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) holds its Twenty-Seventh Meeting in Georgetown, Guyana, 14-15 May 2009, to examine matters related to the implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), agriculture, transportation, and external economic and trade relations.

The Prime Minister, in delivering the keynote address at Friday’s Opening Ceremony of the 12th Meeting of CARICOM’s Council for Foreign and Community relations (COFCOR), said that “together we can prevail and must prevail” as the Community combated the current global financial and economic crisis.
