(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Dr the Honourable Kenny D Anthony, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, has showered congratulations on the West Indies cricket team following their victory in the International Cricket Council World T20 Championship held in Sri Lanka.
The CARICOM Chairman said the victory ensured that 2012 would be a memorable one for sport in the Region, following on the golden performances of our Olympic and Paralympic athletes in London earlier this year.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the government of Venezuela for its generosity in extending the PetroCaribe and ALBA initiatives to CARICOM Member States.
Those initiatives have contributed significantly to meeting the energy needs of the Region and to the implementation of social programmes and development initiatives in the Community, said Dr. the Honourable Kenny Anthony, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia and Chairman of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government.

The week of activities – 12-20 October, 2012, will be officially opened on Wednesday 17 October, 2012.
