(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Next week, November 11-17, is CARICOM Energy Week, to be observed under the theme, Sustainable Energy Powering a Green economy.

CARICOM Energy Week, first observed last year, was established as an annual event based on a mandate from CARICOM Energy Ministers in 2011 to provide a platform for increased awareness about energy matters, given the critical importance of energy to economic development.

Dubbed Live with SG and hosted by the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors, the live social media interaction facilitated by Dominican based COMESEE TV in partnership with the CARICOM Secretariat was hailed a resounding success by young people - and adults too - across the Region.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) His Excellency Picewell Forbes, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Bahamas to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), on Tuesday presented his letters of credence to Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, at the CARICOM Secretariat.

The third Plenipotentiary Representative of the Bahamas to CARICOM, Ambassador Forbes is a veteran broadcaster and communications specialist.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Second Meeting of the Joint CARIFORUM-EU Council under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held at the Headquarters of the Council of the European Union in Brussels, Belgium on 26 October 2012. The Meeting delved into challenges that have arisen in the implementation of the EPA and provided political guidance, with a view to ensuring that EPA implementation remains on track.

Thirteen of the fifteen signatory CARIFORUM States were in attendance, with eight Delegations led by Ministers.
