(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), His Excellency Edwin Carrington has made a plea to the CARICOM Legal Affairs Committee (LAC) to give urgent attention to legislation aimed at curbing the increasing incidents of crime and violence in the Community, which he said could threaten the Regional economic integration process.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) The inaugural CARICOM 10K Road Race will be launched in Saint Lucia on the morning of 3 July 2005, just hours before the opening ceremony for the 26th Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government.
The race is open to professional and amateur athletes from across the Region as well as other CARICOM nationals residing elsewhere. The race is a means by which the Community wishes to encourage CARICOM nationals to use physical activity and sport to promote healthy lifestyles, peace and cooperation, and to improve their quality of life.
(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) Staff of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat in Guyana will mark World Blood Donors day on June 14 by donating blood to Guyana's National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS). The donation will be administered by the NBTS from 1_00 p.m. at the Bank of Guyana Headquarters of the CARICOM Secretariat.
