(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) A Special Meeting of Heads of State and Government of Caribbean countries that are signatories to the ACP-EU Cotonou Partnership Agreement will take place in Montego Bay, Jamaica on 4-5 October 2007.

The meeting will be taking place at a critical juncture of the negotiations between CARIFORUM and the European Union for an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) that will result in liberalized access for goods and services from the EU into the markets of CARIFORUM countries.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) When the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Caucus of Health Ministers convene in Washington this week-end (29-30 September 2007), they are expected to receive and review among other things, the recommendations and follow-up actions emanating from the landmark CARICOM Summit on Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), held in Trinidad and Tobago on 15 September 2007, and advise on how to proceed on the actions to be implemented.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP) was today reminded that it must assist its member countries to find solutions to meet the demand for technical assistance in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This was the charge from the Hon. Dr. Douglas Slater, Minister of Health St. Vincent and The Grenadines to the Ninth Meeting of the CARICOM-PANCAP Regional Coordinating Mechanism (RCM) which opened today in the St. Vincent and The Grenadines.
