(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Georgetown, Guyana) Arrangements for the issue of the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) have been streamlined and the first launch by a National Training Agency is expected to take place in Jamaica by the HEART Trust/NTA on Friday, 19 October at 10_00 am at the Terra Nova Hotel.
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Sport Directors at their third regional meeting in Georgetown, Guyana today (Tuesday 17 October, 2007) agreed that the time was now ripe for the development of a regional policy on Sport.
The meeting agreed that while there was a need for the formulation of national Sport policies which were active, practical and dynamic, there must be a regional policy to harmonise and drive the integrated approaches to Sport development in the Region.

More than 15 years ago, Haiti and the Dominican Republic became signatories to the Lome Convention. At that time both became members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States. CARIFORUM was formed in 1992 and a CARIFORUM Secretariat was established in 1993.
