 The Caribbean Community Action Plan for Social Development and Crime Prevention 2009-2013 (CSDP) Action Plan’s main objective is to prevent and reduce levels of violence and crime in Member States. It underscores the need for the integration of crime prevention considerations into all relevant social and economic policies and programmes, including those addressing employment, education, health, housing and urban planning, poverty, social  marginalisation and exclusion with particular emphasis placed on communities, families, children and youth at risk.

The CARICOM Youth Development Action Plan (CYDAP) aims to promote, through a regional partnership agenda, an enabling environment for adolescent and youth wellbeing, empowerment and participation in national and regional development. It is anchored in CARICOM Youth Development Goals (CYDGs) which outline five main policy areas and actions relating to (i) Education and Economic Empowerment, (ii) Protection, Safety and Security, (iii) Health and Wellbeing, (iv) Culture, Identity and Citizenship; and (v) Leadership, Participation and Governance.

The Thirty-Fourth Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government, Trinidad and Tobago, July 2013, ‘agreed to devote a Special Session of the Twenty-Fifth Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference, in March 2014, to addressing issues related to Human Resource Development (HRD)’.  The Cluster of CARICOM Regional Institutions responsible for Human Resource Development was charged with preparing the submission for the Inter-Sessional Meeting and has worked in collaboration with the CARICOM Secretariat in preparation of the Document.

The Caribbean Regional Strategic Framework (CRSF) 2014-2018 - the successor to the CRSF 2008-2012 - provides strategic direction and programmatic orientation for the members of PANCAP in their pursuit of universal access to HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services by 2018.

The Strategic Plan of Action for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in the Countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is in tended to form a road map for action and resource mobilisation at both the regional and country levels. The Plan also includes recommendations for country plans, and at the national level, countries need to own the Plan by adapting it according to their priorities, adopting it and identifying their own sustainable funding for NCDs, e.g., a National Health Fund. Regional funds can and may be injected.

The ever-evolving, intensely competitive, and crisis-ridden global economy has compelled the Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to take a hard look at how they can achieve a safe, viable, prosperous, and above all, sustainable and resilient path to development.

It is recognised that trade expansion has an important contribution to make towards achieving that goal.

The Regional Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Development Strategy is more appropriately named the Regional Digital Development Strategy (RDds)), to acknowledge the vision for the Region. The Report is presented in two parts_

Part 1_ which outlines the Proposed Draft Strategy, and

Part 2_ which gives the background and establishes the process for and the framework within the Regional Digital Development Strategy was developed.Â
