PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Less than 24 hours after the Washington-base International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Caribbean countries would experience economic growth of just over one per cent this year, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT) is maintaining that the oil rich twin island republic will record economic growth of 2.5 per cent in 2013.

St. Lucian poet, Kendel Hippolyte won the poetry category for his collection “Fault Lines” while Guyanese writer Rupert Roopnarine won the non-fiction category with his publication “The Sky’s Wild Noise”. PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said she was not pressured by any Government minister into accepting the resignation of former minister Jack Warner.
The Prime Minister returned from Canada on Saturday night and said it was in fact the Concacaf findings and report by Sir David Simmons, a former chief justice and attorney general of Barbados, that cemented her decision to accept Warner’s resignation.
