CASTRIES, St. Lucia, CMC – Senior Customs and Immigration officials from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) are calling for guidelines to improve the socio-economic potential of the sub-region through the further development of the tourism industry. Chief Immigration and Comptrollers of Customs officials met in Antigua recently to develop an action plan to facilitate ease of travel for both OECS nationals and tourists from the wider region and beyond. The Mission comprised the following persons_

The 10-member team will be headed by Chief of Mission, Ambassador Rudy Collins of Guyana. Deputy Chief of Mission is Mr. Eugene Petty of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The island's Minister for Sustainable Development, Hon. Dr. James Fletcher will chair the high-level meeting.
The Government of Saint Lucia, on Thursday 19th June 2014, will host the first meeting of a High-Level CARICOM Task Force on Sustainable Development in the Conference Room of the Ministry of the Public Service, Information and Broadcasting.Â

Our presence on the island is at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia; our mandate comes from CARICOM Heads of State and Government who instructed that an observer mission be present for these elections.
