(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Excellency, allow me to begin by warmly welcoming you to the CARICOM Secretariat and to Guyana. I trust that you will be as at home here as your distinguished and much appreciated predecessor was.

These occasions are always pleasant ones, and all the more so when one is welcoming the representative of a state that has been as much a friend to the Caribbean as Australia has.

CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) It is for me always a special pleasure and honour to accept the Credentials of a Plenipotentiary Representative of a Member State to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and I warmly welcome you and your delegation to the Headquarters of the CARICOM Secretariat.

The Bahamas is a valued Member of our Community, and the fact that yours was one of the first diplomatic appointments made by the recently-elected Government of The Bahamas is testimony to the importance that your country attaches to its membership of CARICOM.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) It is always a singular pleasure to accredit plenipotentiary representatives of Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). One has the comfortable feeling that one is welcoming a close relative home to talk about family matters, and Barbados, a founding father, is undoubtedly a very integral part of the CARICOM family.
