(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Caribbean and UK Foreign Ministers ended their two days of intense and frank discussions on Sunday afternoon with expressions of satisfaction with the 31-point Plan of Action that reflected the outcomes of the Seventh UK-Caribbean Ministerial Forum.

“It is not about talking about talk, but acting on talk…” affirmed Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque in his description of the Action Plan at the closing press conference.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque on Tuesday received the credentials of His Excellency Robert Kopecky as the new European Union (EU) Ambassador to CARICOM.

The Ambassador, a national of the Czech Republic, is the first Ambassador to the Region appointed from an EU Member State rather than from the European Commission directly.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Caribbean Community (CARICOM) support to Haiti, expands in 2012 with its agreement to support the public health education activities of the international Organization for Migration (IOM) and Radio Boukman a community radio station styled “the voice of Cite Soleil”. the radio initiative is being conducted through edutainment; learning through a medium that both educates and entertains.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General, on Tuesday17 January formally commenced dialogue on staff matters with the executive of the CARICOM Secretariat Staff Association.

President of the Staff Association, Mr. Timothy Odle, signalled the Association’s “full support” to the Secretary-General particularly at a time when new initiatives were about to be rolled out within the CARICOM Secretariat, towards greater efficiency of systems of operation.
