(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) CARIFORUM Officials will meet with their European Union counterparts in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on December 8, to convene the First Meeting of the Special Committee on Customs Cooperation and Trade Facilitation under the CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

This Special Committee Meeting will be preceded by a CARIFORUM Preparatory Meeting on December 7.

Kamla Persad-Bissesar, and some members of her Cabinet. CARICOM is relieved to know that this criminal plot was thwarted and commends the security forces of Trinidad and Tobago for their vigilance.

This year’s commemoration is appropriately themed “Getting to Zero_ Zero New HIV Infections; Zero Discrimination; and Zero AIDS Related Deaths” calls on all of us to move beyond the traditional routine responses that have been employed in the past in fighting HIV and to use innovative and creative ways in reducing new HIV infections, deaths and discrimination.

In his World AIDS Day 2011 message, The Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and PANCAP Chair said it was his firm belief that the Caribbean through PANCAP could make the HIV pandemic a “thing of the past.”
