The CRSF provides essential guidelines that build on the already illustrious achievements of a Partnership deemed by UNAIDS to be an international best practice. Most appropriate is its vision of a Caribbean free of AIDS and new HIV infections, in which all people are happier, healthier, productive, safe and respected, complemented by a mission to stimulate the critical role of country programmes that empower Caribbean people to fulfil their potential and live happy, healthy, peaceful lives.

The PANCAP Social Contracting Toolkit is a reference document designed to be used by Governments and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in CARICOM member countries in the roll out of social contracting mechanisms as a sustainable approach to service delivery for HIV services. 

Examples of existing partnerships between governments and CSOs or the private sector are referenced as part of understanding the national landscape of financing options at the country level.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque deemed the Surinamese Youth programmes as a regional Best Practice.

On the second day of his official visit to Suriname, the Secretary-General was brought up to date on the activities and plans of Surinamese youth and was particularly impressed by the exciting programmes outlined to him by the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors (CYA) at a meeting in Paramaribo on Tuesday 13 December.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) is well poised to undertake UNAIDS’ challenge of “Getting to Zero_ Zero Discrimination, Zero New Infections and Zero AIDS-related deaths.”

In his World AIDS Day 2011 message, The Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and PANCAP Chair said it was his firm belief that the Caribbean through PANCAP could make the HIV pandemic a “thing of the past.”

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) have been called upon to revamp the Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) by establishing the Partnership as the Caribbean’s leader in promoting human rights and developing legislation to protect the rights of those persons living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)The future strategy of the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP), must place emphasis on universal access to HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.

This was the view of more than 150 delegates representing member countries and organisations of PANCAP attending a Caribbean Gathering held as one of the side events at the 16th International HIV/AIDS Conference in Toronto.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) A Special Meeting of the CARICOM Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on 9-10 June 2006 agreed on a framework of action for a more positive role of the national and regional educational sectors in HIV and AIDS response.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Human Rights and HIV/AIDS advocates from across the Caribbean will meet in Kingston, Jamaica on 25 to 26 May 2006 at a workshop to develop strategies for rights based responses to HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Caribbean. The workshop is convened by the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP) Law, Ethics and Human Rights project in collaboration with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), as part of its Enhanced Support to HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean (ESAC) programme.
