BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, CMC – Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas Tuesday presented an EC$528.1 million (One EC dollar = US$0.37 cents) tax free budget to Parliament outlining a reduction in corporate taxes as well as extending several incentive packages that his administration had earlier implemented in a bid to stimulate the economy of the twin-island federation.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, CMC – St. Kitts-Nevis is exploring the possibility of establishing an embassy in Cuba next year as the Federation seeks to improve its diplomatic relations with Havana, Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas has said.
Dr. Douglas gave the commitment during a courtesy call by Hugo Ruiz Cabrera, who assumed the post of Chargé d’affaires ad interim, following the departure of Cuba’s ambassador Jorge D. Payret Zubiaur.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, CMC – Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas has announced a minor re-shuffle of his Cabinet following a High Court ruling on Thursday that the appointment of Jason Hamilton as the Attorney General and as a fourth Senator in the National Assembly was declared null and void.
In a radio and television broadcast on Thursday night, Dr. Douglas said that Education and Information, Agriculture, Marine Resources and Cooperatives Nigel Carty had resigned to facilitate the re-appointment of Hamilton, the youngest ever attorney general here, back into his post.
