These guidelines have been prepared to help integrate and mainstream the concerns and issues related to older persons into disaster risk management programmes and processes. They outline difficulties faced by older persons in disasters and present actions that should be considered and implemented at different operational levels, from the national policy level through sub-national, facility and individual levels.

The CARICOM Fresh and Processed Market Opportunity Study was conducted during March and April 2009. The methodology used included desk research on production and trade databases, review of recent fresh and processed produce industry studies and field visits and interviews. The quality and reliability of the available production and trade data posed some limitations on the analysis. However, all attempts were made to validate the existing data and to ensure that the conclusions arrived at were in line with observed industry trends.
Parliamentarians from across the Caribbean met in Jamaica November 9-10, 2011 for a Regional Consultation of Parliamentarians on Preventing Gender-based Violence under the theme “Building Political Will to End Gender-Based Violence.” The objectives of the meeting were to increase awareness of gender based violence and violence against women among parliamentarians and to build political will among them to take actions to end this violation of human rights.
