(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) A series of key meetings of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), including the Nineteenth Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Heads of Government in Nassau, The Bahamas, will be held within the next ten days.

Among them is the Meeting of the Reflections Group on the CARIFORUM/EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) that was initialed last December in Barbados. The Reflections Group will meet in Kingston, Jamaica on 28-29 February 2008.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Federal Republic of Germany signed a Financing Agreement worth eight million euros on Tuesday 26 February 2008.

The grant, disbursed in two tranches the first of five million and the second of three million, is to assist the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean (PANCAP) in its attempts to prevent the spreads of the virus.

(CARCIOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Regional manufacturers of solar water heaters and other stakeholders of the solar heating industry will participate in a three-day workshop at the Divi Southwinds Hotel in Barbados.

The workshop, from 27-29 February 2008, will be facilitated by the Caribbean Renewable Energy Development Programme (CREDP) of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) H.E., Edwin Carrington has hailed the service of Mr Keith Sobion to the legal fraternity of Trinidad and Tobago, CARICOM and the wider Commonwealth.

In a message of condolence on the passing of Mr. Sobion, the Secretary-General lauded the contributions of the Executive Director of the Council of Legal Education (CLE) and former Principal of the Normal Manley Law School and to the development of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).
