(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) A two-day seminar aimed at reviewing how the ten-year old Intra-CARICOM Double Taxation Agreement (ICDTA) was functioning got underway Monday morning at the Grand Coastal Inn in Guyana.

Dr. Maurice Odle, Economic Adviser to the Secretary-General of CARICOM welcomed the Heads of Tax Administrations and other representatives to the seminar and urged that the interactive and issues-oriented sessions be used to review the Agreement to ensure that it was working as intended and was benefitting all signatory Member States.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) CARICOM Youth Ambassadors on Monday, with the strong support from directors of youth affairs resolved to approach their mandate more seriously, and work assiduously to implement strategies to strengthen and sustain the CARICOM Youth Ambassador Programme (CYAP).

Twenty-seven youth ambassadors met jointly with their directors of youth affairs at the Courtyard Marriott in Paramaribo, Suriname to evaluate their programme, develop strategies for its sustainability and orient 17 newly appointed ambassadors.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) More than seventy-five youth representatives are meeting in Suriname to give a final critique to the report of the CARICOM Commission on Youth Development (CCYD) in the run up to the Special Summit of CARICOM Heads of Government set for the end of January, 2010.

The joint meeting of CARICOM Youth Affairs Directors, Youth Ambassadors and representatives of Inter-Agency Advisory Committees on Youth provides the platform for this critique, at the Courtyard Marriott on 1-2 December.
