(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) A wide cross-section of experts will start the process of formulating a food and nutrition policy for the Caribbean when they meet in Guyana next week.

The meeting takes place 30 November- 1st December 2009 in the form of a workshop and is being coordinated by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN).

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat will convene a Regional Seminar on the Administration of the Intra-CARICOM Double Taxation Agreement, (ICDTA) from 30 November to 1 December 2009 in Georgetown, Guyana.

Targeted at Heads of Tax Administrations and other officials in Tax Authorities across the Region, the Seminar is intended to provide an opportunity to review the administration and application of the Agreement.

His Excellency Edwin Carrington, Secretary-General of CARICOM made this point as he opened the Twelfth Meeting of the Budget Committee of the Community on Thursday at the CARICOM Secretariat headquarters, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) In its bid to rid the Region of substance misuse and abuse, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat is pulling out all stops to reduce the demand for and supply of illicit drugs.

Its most recent initiative is an offensive aimed at reducing the supply of illicit drugs through behaviour-change communication campaigns at the national level.
